Contemporary music icon, Kenny Rogers, once again contributes to registered natural disaster and children’s charities, when he arrives for his final Tamworth performance at TRECC on Sunday 25 January, as part of his Farewell Down Under Tour.
Kenny expressed his passion for Australia and concern for those affected by natural disasters on his sold out first visit to Tamworth in 2011, where he made a ten thousand dollar donation from his own pocket to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
This year, the Grammy legend will sign the two promotional banners hanging outside the Northern Daily Leader and Gas Weld buildings, which will then be passed on to the Farmy Army (Buy A Bale campaign) and Ronald McDonald House Tamworth, to include in their auction fundraising.
Buy A Bale Founder and Campaign Coordinator Charles Alder says “Since the launch of Buy A Bale in June 2013, we have delivered more than 100,000 bales to struggling farmers in drought affected areas and the proceeds of this unique contribution will help alleviate their plight.”
Chris Watson, House Manager at Ronald McDonald House Tamworth says “This is a very generous donation and a great way to support the families with ill or injured children who regard our facility as their home away from home.”
