The Bartercard Charity Foundation has today announced a contribution of T$100,000 towards the Buy a Bale Campaign.
According to Richard Norris, General Manager of the Foundation, “Bartercard through its Australian membership base is ready and willing to help this needy campaign in conjunction with the support pledged by the Bartercard Charity Foundation. In particular, Bartercard is keen to arrange holiday accommodation packages through its Australia wide hospitality members so that many farming families who haven’t had a holiday in a while can take a break and recharge their batteries.”
Introducing the Bartercard Charity Foundation – A New Way of Giving
Founded in 1991, Bartercard currently enables over 35,000 trading members in seven countries to benefit from the cashless economy of barter. In Australia the Bartercard Group consistently seeks to fulfill its social mission of facilitating growth, development and improvement within the community.
Earlier this year the Bartercard Charity Foundation was established and has been approved by the Australian Tax Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient, meaning that donors can, subject to tax law, claim a tax deduction for donating to the Foundation.
The Bartercard Charity Foundation is different because it accepts donations of trading stock, property, services, Bartercard trade dollars and not just cash. Furthermore, it supports a wide cross section of Australian Registered Charities, particularly those that have great causes but struggle to gain national prominence.
The value of donations will be fully applied to those Charities that have lodged a grant application to support their cause. Grants will be paid in Bartercard trade dollars in conjunction with a spending plan to achieve specific project outcomes.
