This initiative came from a request from a number of schools for musical instruments. We thought, how many other schools out there need instruments and music teachers?
There are two elements of this initiative:
1/ The collection and distribution of musical instruments to schools across Australia, and
2/ The connection of retired or holidaying music teachers with outback and rural communities.
We’re confident there are thousands of instruments across Australia under beds or in cupboards that aren’t being used. It is widely acknowledged that music can play a significant role in a students learning outcomes. We know through our own children’s school activities that there aren’t the instruments available so when a rural school asked us to help them write a grant for musical instruments we thought, hang on we can do one better.
