Buy a Bale is planning to bring some Christmas cheer to the bush this year with two trucks of presents and essential items making their way to outback Queensland.
As the outback suffers through continuing drought, one truck will leave Brisbane headed for Mt Isa and a second truck will leave Townsville headed for Cloncurry.
We’re asking the people of Brisbane and surrounds and the Townsville Region for the following items to make Christmas a more pleasant experience for our farmers and their families.
Could you please help us with any of the following?
1/ The supply of a new unwrapped gift for a child between birth and 18 (Please do not give giftcards or second hand items).
2/ The purchase of a Buy a Bale Christmas hamper to be delivered by a local supermarket to each farming family. (You buy the hamper for $50 from Buy a Bale shop on our website, on the collection day or prior in Townsville at any of the three participating Ray White Offices and we’ll place the order with a local supermarket closest to the farmer so they can collect it and the business is transacted in the country town).
3/ Pet food, new, sealed and non perishable.
If none of these options suit you can always make a donation to assist Buy a Bale’s continuing work. Donate here
These are all the areas we’re trying to cover
Please be aware of these important notes for all items being delivered for the trucks
All items delivered must be unwrapped so their contents are clearly visible. No items will be accepted if wrapped. We will unwrap
Please limit the size of your gift to no larger than a double shoe box size.
All pet food must be within expiry dates and sealed in its original packaging.
Items that don’t meet these conditions will have to be sadly refused due to health and safety requirements.
The Santa Bush run will have two collection points, one in Brisbane and a second in Townsville.
Items will then be shipped out and delivered to local community groups who have agreed to help distribute the gifts and pet food. Towns such as St George, Chinchilla, Miles, Roma, Mitchell, Morven, Bollon, Cunnamulla, Thargomindah, Charleville, and north to Mt Isa and west from Townsville, Charters Towers, Hughenden, Richmond, Cloncurry are all intended recipients.
